So, here we are ... but not for long

Hello lovely visitor. Welcome to the Joined-Up Thinking blog. However, you won't be stopping ...

My name is Stevyn Colgan and I'm the author of Joined-Up Thinking - a book about the interconnectedness of stuff. It's an altogether silly little book and not meant to be taken at all seriously. However, it does contain many interesting, if trivial, facts with which you can assault people in the kitchen at parties. The fact that it is about quite interesting facts brought me to the attention of Quite Interesting Ltd, the chaps who make that excellent television show QI. As the result, we've all been chums ever since and I've also recently contributed to the 2009 QI Annual.

So, why won't you be staying?

Well, people are always suggesting to me new and interesting ways to link unusual facts together and I thought it might be good fun to start a blog dedicated to this strange and arcane habit. However, the blog soon showed its inflexibility when it comes to allowing people to join in.

So, there is now a proper Joined-Up Thinking social networking group where you can have discussions, suggest fascinating new connections and debate older ones. You can berate me over anything that I got wrong in the book and tell me what I should have written instead. Or you can just use the network to chat to each other about things that you find interesting, fascinating, stimulating, curious or just plain odd.

So, can you suggest a connection between two or more apparently unconnected facts? Can you make a chain of unusual associations? If so, I'd love to see them and, who knows, I may be able to persuade a publisher somewhere to immortalise them in print.

The world in all of its multifarious glory is your oyster ... all you have to do is tuck in.

Join the network by clicking here or on the logo at the top right of this blog. Meanwhile, you can always catch up with my daily adventures at my Unbearable Oddness of Stevyn blog, which has been running for some three years now for some unaccountable reason.

Have a splendid day.

Stevyn
